As part of Finley's birthday treat my brother had got us tickets for MCM Comic Con - unfortunately Fin woke up not feeling too well on Sunday morning, so I went with Shannon instead and boy was it good!!
Totally a place to get your geek on!
The MCM Comic Con London takes place at the ExCel Centre in the Docklands, my God, the venue is huge. It is amazing seeing all the cosplayers getting off the DLR to the Star Wars theme tune. We visited Hyper Japan earlier this year but Comic Con is on a much larger scale.
Shannon dressed as Lucy Heartfilia from Fairytail, seeing everybody's costumes I felt extremely ashamed and wished that I had made an effort. The show had been on all weekend, on Friday Jason Momoa was on stage talking about his new series See, Simon Pegg was there doing meet and greets along with a few other stars.
Being a massive anime fan, Shannon said she wanted to live there, the array of stalls is amazing, a real good mix of art work, memorabilia, trinkets, books and clothes. I can see why people spend so much here, it would take a good couple of hours alone just to browse the stalls. She is a big fan of My Hero Academia so she bought a couple of badges and stickers and some furry ears on a headband.
If I had more money I could have done a lot of my Christmas shopping there.
There were lots of photo opportunities too, the Iron Throne and Harry Potter at the House of Spells stall and we had a pictures taken with the new Witcher series on Netflix.
There were lots of food stalls as well as the one's in the centre of the ExCel such as Costa and Subway. A few we recognised like the bubble waffles and Japanese food stalls that were at Hyper Japan.
One side was a gaming side with lots of have a go areas - there was a huge gaming truck with demos going on.
We spent hours there - mainly just wandering around and taking it all in. We are already planning on going to next year's one and we will make sure we have upped our cosplay game!
The next MCM Comic Con is in Birmingham on November 16th and 17th.
